ADHD Counselling for High Achievers in NB & NS

Hello!

You have always found ways to keep up. You built systems, pushed harder, stayed later, and figured it out on your own. But somewhere along the way, keeping up started to cost you everything.

ADHD in high achievers is one of the most missed and misunderstood presentations there is. Because from the outside, you look like you have it together. Inside, it feels like chaos.

What ADHD Actually Looks Like in High Achievers

ADHD does not always look like a kid who cannot sit still. In adults, and especially in high achievers, it often looks like this.

Brilliant in a crisis but paralyzed by a simple email. Starting everything and finishing nothing. Hyperfocusing for hours on one thing while everything else falls apart. Forgetting important things no matter how many reminders you set. Feeling like you are always one step behind no matter how hard you try.

Many of my clients were not diagnosed until their 30s or 40s. Some are still undiagnosed but recognize themselves in every description they read. Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here.

Why High Achievers Mask So Well

High achievers with ADHD often develop what is called masking. They learn to hide their struggles, compensate with sheer effort, and appear completely capable on the surface.

The problem is that masking is exhausting. And it is not sustainable. Eventually the gap between how hard you are working and how little it feels like you are accomplishing becomes impossible to ignore.

Therapy is where we stop masking and start actually working with your brain instead of against it.

What We Work On Together

We will work on understanding how your ADHD brain actually functions so you can stop fighting it. We will build routines and systems that work for your life, not someone else's. We will address the shame, the late diagnosis grief, and the years of feeling like you were just not trying hard enough.

This is not about fixing you. Your brain is not broken. It just works differently, and there is a way to make that work for you.

Who Is This For?

ADHD counselling at La Rosa Counselling is for high-achieving professionals, entrepreneurs, and post-secondary students in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia who are ready to stop white-knuckling their way through life.

I offer in-person sessions in Dieppe, NB and virtual sessions across NB and NS.

Most extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Social Worker. Check that your plan includes RSW coverage and your out-of-pocket cost may be little to nothing.
