CRISIS DISCLAIMER: La Rosa Counselling is not a crisis or emergency facility. If you are experiencing an emergency, are in immediate danger, or are experiencing a mental health crisis, please immediately dial 911, proceed to your nearest local emergency room, or contact the Suicide Crisis Helpline at 988. Do not use our email or website for urgent medical or psychiatric emergencies.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the website (www.larosacounselling.com) and utilizing the therapy services provided by La Rosa Counselling ("we", "us", "our"), you ("the Client") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services. These terms apply to all in-person and virtual services provided.

2. Description of Services

La Rosa Counselling provides professional psychotherapeutic and counselling services focused on ADHD, high-functioning anxiety, burnout, and boundary-setting. Services are provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing. Therapy is offered in-person at our Dieppe, New Brunswick office, and virtually via a secure telehealth platform to residents of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

3. Confidentiality and Privacy

Your privacy is of the utmost importance. All interactions, records, and communications are kept strictly confidential in accordance with the Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act (PHIPAA) of New Brunswick, PIPEDA, and the professional standards of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW). However, there are legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Imminent risk of severe harm or death to yourself or another person.

  • Suspected abuse or neglect of a child (under 16) or a vulnerable adult.

  • A court order or subpoena mandating the release of records.

  • Disclosure required by a regulatory body for auditing or disciplinary purposes.

A detailed consent form outlining these limits will be provided and must be signed prior to your first session.

4. Appointments, Cancellations, and No-Shows

Consistency is vital to the therapeutic process. When you book an appointment, that time is reserved exclusively for you.

Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments (no-shows), will be billed at the full session rate. This fee is generally not covered by insurance providers.

Late Arrivals: If you arrive late to an in-person or virtual session, the session will still end at the scheduled time, and the full session fee will apply.

5. Payment and Billing

Payment for services is due in full at the time of the session. We accept major credit cards and e-transfers.

Insurance: La Rosa Counselling does not directly bill insurance companies. Upon receipt of payment, you will be provided with a detailed, official receipt containing all necessary licensing information (RSW) to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. It is your responsibility to verify your coverage limits and requirements prior to beginning therapy.

6. Virtual Therapy (Telehealth)

For clients participating in virtual therapy, the following additional terms apply:

Technology: We use a secure, PIPEDA/HIPAA-compliant platform. You are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection.

Privacy: You are responsible for securing a private, quiet space for your session where you cannot be overheard.

Jurisdiction: Nathalie O'Brien, RSW, is authorized to provide services to residents of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. You must be physically located in one of these provinces at the time of your session.
